07 Oct Invitation to a Private View of new works of art by Madeleine Kear and Stephen Wicks
So Autumn is finally here and we have been wonderfully busy with so many weddings and events now that everyone is playing catch up as the ‘new normal’ starts to settle in place. Covent Garden and the West End in general is looking very much like its old self with the theatres back up and running to full houses, restaurants and bars buzzing and the hotels now welcoming guests from overseas.
In other news, we would like to invite you to a Private View of new works of art by an ex-dancer friend and colleague Madeleine Kear, known as Madeleine Sheehan back in the days of Sadler’s Wells Royal Ballet. Madeleine was a wonderfully expressive dancer and danced both here in the UK and with the Australian Ballet before retiring.
Madeleine says, ‘I am inspired by the things that hold my eye with their light, colour, and form. In this way, painting is not dissimilar to dancing, it’s all about the harmony.’ Her preferred medium is gouache and oil with many of her paintings being inspired by landscapes.
Also on show will be miniature stage sets created by Stephen who made a number of these enchanting designs during the long days of lockdown as a way of keeping busy and active.
We do hope you’ll be able to join us for a glass of wine at what we hope will be a fun and inspirational event. Details can be found on the invite above. RSVP firstname.lastname@example.org
