18 Apr Happy Easter!
It`s a glorious morning today in London at the start of the Easter Bank Holiday. This year, Easter is just about as late as it can be which affects the floral progamme in some ways. Last year, we had a long, cold winter with snow storms still hitting the City mid-April. This year, the weather has been kinder although that has meant that a lot of the blossom came out early leaving little left for any brides who wanted a blossom-filled spring wedding. So together with a late Easter and a burst of warm weather, the spring bulbs and blossom have been and gone. But, like the professionals we are (!) we did make the most of the blossom when it was here so I hope you enjoy the pic of the blossom vases we did for an event at the Royal Opera House last month.

Wedding season approaches and throughout the (nearly) 20 years that we have been in the business, we have provided flowers for weddings and civil ceremonies from the small and intimate occasion to the full on ceremony and reception shebang. This year, due to the changes in the law, our wedding bookings include 2 that are male couples who are marrying. Weddings are fun to plan and all our couples have there own ideas which we try hard to fulfill for them. Last year`s blog in May gives a few pointers and tips when it comes to planning your wedding flowers so do take a look.
Like the UK asparagus season that will be upon us shortly, peony season is just starting. The Dutrch-grown ones are already available but still quite pricey so it`s worth holding on for a couple of weeks or so until the price drops. I`m hoping this warm weather will bring a bumper crop of UK grown peonies but it may be a shorter season then normal so June brides should keep their fingers crossed if they are banking on having peonies this year.
