Bloomsbury Flowers | Floral Workshops with Firmdale Hotels
Bloomsbury Flowers was opened in 1994 by former Royal Ballet dancers, Stephen Wicks and Mark Welford, and quickly became synonymous with beautiful flowers, arranged beautifully.

Floral Workshops with Firmdale Hotels

Floral Workshops with Firmdale Hotels

Over the years, we have often been asked if we would ever set up regular floral workshops, or even a flower school.  We have often hosted workshops in the shop on an ad hoc basis usually for team building events for local businesses and whilst these have proved very successful, there is not enough room in our Great Queen Street premises to run courses on a regular basis.

Those of you who know us well will be aware that we have been working with Firmdale Hotels for well over 15 years now and supply all the flowers and plants throughout their 8 London hotels.  Our relationship is moving one step closer as we are teaming up with them and starting seasonal floral workshops which will take place at the Charlotte Street Hotel.

Stephen and Mark – affectionately known as the Bloomsbury Boys! – will lead the workshops that will be based on the ethos of our work and style in both our shop and the designs we install throughout the hotels.  You will be one of a small group and will make your own design in a stylish container which will be yours to take home.  There will also be an opportunity to buy the books on floral design written by Stephen and Mark, ‘Flower Arranging’ and ‘Simple Flower Arranging’ both published by Dorling Kindersley.  The Boys may even sign your copy if you ask nicely…!

Dates for the workshops for 2018 are:

March 24th
Flowers and foliage based on a spring palette using narcissi, ranunculas, tulips and anemones in shade of cream, green and yellow

July 14th
Flowers and foliage based on a summer palette with scented stock, peonies, roses and delphinium in shades of pink, lilac and blue

Sept 29th
Flowers and foliage based on an autumnal palette using dahlias, asclepias, hypericum berries and hydrangea in hues of orange, brown and russet

November 10th
Flowers and foliage based on a frosty white combination using twigs, mixed foliage and herbs, roses and snowberry

Note: flowers listed above are subject to change based on seasonal availability
